CAPE COD, Mass. - The Wesley College baseball team was awarded the No. 2 seed in the ECAC South Region Baseball Championships, announced by the ECAC on Monday, May 12.
The Wolverines (27-14) along with top seeded Alvernia (31-12) and No. 3 seed Delaware Valley (24-17) will receive byes in Wednesday's first round in the five team field.
It is Wesley's second straight appearance in the tournament, after earning the third seed in the 2007 South Championship. The Wolverines will look to avenge last year's first round loss in this year's tournament.
On Wednesday, May 14, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (23-20) will travel to Washington & Jefferson College (22-16) in the No. 4/No. 5 match-up at 3:00 p.m.
On Friday, May 16 at Alvernia, the Crusaders will play the winner of the Washington & Jefferson/Pitt-Bradford game and Wesley will play Delaware Valley.
Saturday's championship game, also at Alvernia, will feature the semifinal winners in the single elimination tournament with a 12:00 PM first pitch.
Game times have not been established at this time for the semifinal contests.
