DOVER, Del. - Senior Tyler Burns (Dover, Del./Dover) had his second straight two-homer game as Wesley cruised past Gallaudet 20-0 for the Wolverines fourth straight win.
Ryan Doran (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) and Brian Billet (Chesapeake, Md./Northern) combined on a five-hit shutout for Wesley. Doran went the first six and allowed just three hits, while striking out six.
Wesley (9-7, 6-4 CAC) scored three runs in each the first, third and fourth innings. The Wolverines then pushed 11 runners across in the fifth inning to cap the scoring.
Burns had a two-run double in the first inning, a solo shot in the third and a two-run blast in the fifth. He finished the game 3-for-4 with six runs batted in and four runs scored. Over the past two contests, the designated hitter is 6-for-8 with four homers and 11 runs batted in.
Greg McKee (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) drove in three runners, as did Casey Rothwell (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham). Grant Morlock (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) reached base in all six plate appearances, drawing three walks and was hit by a pitch on three more occasions. Bryan Reshetar (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) also walked three times in a game in which the Bison walked 11 and hit eight batters.
Seth Hastings (Seaford, Del./Sussex Tech) came off the bench for a pair of doubles.
Peter Leccese took the loss for Gallaudet, allowing eight runs in three innings of work.
