DOVER, Del. - Penn State Brandywine scored two runs in the top of the fourth to break a 3-3 tie and made them hold up for a 5-3 win, snapping Wesley College's five-game win streak.
The Wolverines struck first with an RBI single by Bryan Reshetar (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) in the first inning, but a bases loaded double by the Nittany Lions in the second put them ahead 3-1.
Kevin Murphy (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and Greg McKee (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) drove in runs in the third to tie the game. A pair of Wesley errors in the fourth, however, aided Penn State Brandywine and lead to a two run inning.
The Wolverines left 14 runners on base, compared to just three for the Nittany Lions.
McKee, Rob Benedict (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) and Steve Perone (Skillman, N.J./Montgomery) each had two hits for Wesley.
Jake Dunn (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) got the start and took the loss. DJ Keckler (Fallston, Md./Fallston) pitched four innings of perfect relief, striking out five.
The Wolverines will look to get back in the win column on Saturday, March 27 with a CAC doubleheader at Gallaudet.
