Wesley to Host ECAC South Championships

Note:  Tickets will be sold at the gate for $5.  All fans 12 and over must have a ticket.  Tickets are good for all three games.  Students with valid ID from any of the participating institutions will be admitted free.

CAPE COD, Mass. - The Wesley College baseball has been awarded the top seed in the ECAC South Baseball Championships and will host the semifinals and championship on Saturday, May 22 at Bob Reed Field.

By earning the No. 1 seed, the Wolverines also receive a first round by in the six team tournament, as does second seeded Neumann.

First round games of the single elimination tournament will be played on May 17.  No. 3 seed Grove City will host sixth seeded La Roche and the five seed Penn State Altoona travels to fourth seeded Bethany.

The two first round winners will head to Dover, Delaware on May 22. The Grove City/LaRoche winner takes on Neumann, with Wesley hosting the Penn State Altoona/Bethany winner.  The remaining two teams will square off for the title at 4:00 PM.

Wesley earned the top seed after finishing the regular season with a record of 27-13.

No. 3 Grove City College (19-19) at No. 6 La Roche College (19-16), 3:00 p.m.
No. 5 Penn State Altoona (22-22) at No. 4 Bethany College (19-17), 2:00 p.m.

Semifinals – Saturday, May 22 at Wesley College
No. 1 Wesley College (27-13)/Bethany vs. Penn State Altoona winner, TBA
No. 2 Neumann College (19-17)/Grove City vs. La Roche winner, TBA

Championship – Saturday, May 22 at Wesley College
