YORK, Pa. - Wesley College's Kevin Murphy (Middletown, Md./Middletown) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his performance the week ending February 27.
Murphy went 8-for-17 (.471) in five games for Wesley, with a double, three walks, six runs scored and four RBI. Among his accomplishments are a CAC-record 40-game hitting streak (since extended to 41), which is tied for sixth best in NCAA Division III history and one of 25 players in all NCAA with a 40 (or more)-game hit streak. He also tied the team record with his 198th career hit.
Wesley, 9-1 on the season and winners of five straight, travel to York (Pa.) for the Wolverines' CAC opener on March 4.
