DOVER, Del. - Stevenson used a five-run eighth to erase a two-run deficit and claimed a 9-7 win over Wesley College.
Wesley had trailed 4-1 early before a four-run fourth put them on top 5-4. A two-run double by Geoff Kimmel (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) knocked in a pair of runs with the bases loaded, and an error on the play brought home another to tie the game. An infield single by Steve Perone (Skillman, N.J./Montogomery) then brough Kimmel home and gave the Wolverines the lead.
Perone had his second RBI single of the game in the seventh, bringing home Jon Carlson (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) for a 6-4 lead.
But in the top of the eighth, three errors by the Wolverines aided a Mustang rally that erased Wesley's lead.
In the ninth, the Wolverines loaded the bases with one out before Stevenson turned a double play to hold on for the win.
Carlson and Perone had multi-hit games for Wesley. Carlson doubled, scored three runs and stole a base. Kimmel had three RBIs.
Zac Stavish had three hits to lead Stevenson. Justin Anderson, Jeff Bihy and Matt Bratter had two apiece.
Jake Dunn (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) took the loss in relief.
Tim Pyle picked up the win and Patrick Quinn earned the save.
The two teams finish the season series on Saturday, March 26 with a doubleheader at Stevenson.
