DOVER, Del. - Salisbury took advantage of six walks and four hit batters to capture an 11-3 win over Wesley in CAC play.
Wesley (15-14, 7-8 CAC) had tied the game in the third inning at 3-3 when Greg McKee (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) led off the inning with a double as the Wolverines scored runs on a passed ball and an error in the inning.
The Sea Gulls (17-9, 11-5 CAC), however, scored eight runs in their next four at bats to put the game out of reach.
Wesley's first run came in the first inning when Rob Benedict (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) was hit by a pitch, then stole second, third and home to cut Salisbury's lead to 2-1.
Tyler Bennett drove in three runs for Salisbury, while Bill Root, Nick Walls and Nick Gentry all had two hits. Gentry homered in the game.
For the Wolverines, Kevin Murphy (Middletown, Md./Middletown) had a hit and walked twice, reaching base in three of his four plate appearances.
Chris Greiner picked up the win, allowing three hits and four walks in seven innings, striking out seven.
AJ Robledo (Melbourne Beach, Fla./Florida Air Academy) battled, but took the loss. He went five innings, allowed nine hits and walked two.
Wesley travels to York (Pa.) Friday, April 8 before heading to Salisbury for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 9.
