Baseball Edges Susquehanna 2-1

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Wesley College baseball team edged Susquehanna, 2-1, at H. Bollinger Field Thursday afternoon.

With the win, Wesley improves to 17-16 overall while the Crusaders move to 23-10 on the year.

The Wolverines grabbed an early lead, scoring in the first inning of the game. Eric Speidel singled and stole second before coming around to score on a double by Trevor Mears.

Susquehanna tied the game at one in the bottom of the seventh when Jared Musilli hit an RBI single. The Wolverines scored what came to be the winning run in the top of the eighth when Speidel grounded out to third, plating Tyler Hunter who tripled earlier in the inning.  

Eric Willey earned his fifth win of the year, allowing six hits and one run, while striking out six. Andrew Cooper pitched two scoreless innings to earn his sixth save of the season.

The Wolverines will travel to Misericordia April 27th. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
