Wesley-Christopher Newport Cancelled

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The football game between Wesley College and Christopher Newport University scheduled for Saturday, September 6 has been cancelled due to impending weather conditions tropical storm/hurricane Hanna will produce.

Christopher Newport announced that it had postponed or cancelled all of its on-campus athletic events for the weekend.

"While we are disappointed in the situation," Wesley's Executive Director of Sports & Recreation and Head Football Coach Mike Drass expressed, "we have the utmost respect for the administration at Christopher Newport University and their decision to put the safety and well-being of the students first."

Wesley will now prepare for its September 13 match up at Delaware Valley.
