Beavers Recognized by ECAC

CAPE COD, Mass. - Wesley College senior Larry Beavers was named an honorable mention for the ECAC Division III Southwest Player of the Week. 

Beavers earned the nod for his spectacular performance on special teams in the Wolverines 48-0 win over Apprentice.  The ECAC names an Offensive and a Defensive Player of the Week, but does not have an award for special teams.

The Annapolis, Maryland native ran back the opening kick off 79 yards for a touchdown and in the third quarter dove over two Builder defenders and the pylon to finish off a 43-yard punt return for a touchdown.

He also caught thee passes for 47 yards and rushed once for six yards giving him 221 all-purpose yards to outgain the Apprentice School team total by 10 yards.

Beavers was also named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his effort.

The Wolverines travel south this weekend for a non-conference game against NAIA foe Webber International on October 25 at 1:00 PM.
