Beavers Earns Spot on Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS,  Minn. - Wesley College's Larry Beavers was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after scoring a pair of special teams touchdowns in a 48-0 win over Apprentice.

The Annapolis, Maryland native returned the opening kick 79 yards for a touchdown before diving over a pair of defenders and the pylon on a 43-yard punt return in the third quarter.

Earlier in the week, Beavers was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week and was an ECAC Player of the Week Honorable Mention as the ECAC does not have a special teams award.

Against the Builders, he also caught thee passes for 47 yards and rushed once for six yards giving him 221 all-purpose yards to outgain the Apprentice School team total by 10 yards.

It is the second time this year the senior has earned a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week.  Beavers was honored after catching eight passes for 143 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Widener.

The Wolverines travel south this weekend for a non-conference game against NAIA foe Webber International on October 25 at 1:00 PM.
