Wesley Still 14th in AFCA Poll
WACO, Texas - The Wesley College football team is ranked 14th for the third straight week by the American Football Coaches Association.
Earlier in the week, the Wolverines moved up to 10th in the latest D3football.com poll and were voted fourth in the ECAC Lambert-Meadowlands Poll.
Wesley held steady at 14 after a 42-13 drubbing of Webber International in Lake Wales, Florida.
While only one team dropped out of the top 10, there was a lot of movement within the rankings.
Mount Union picked up all 39 first place votes and is over 100 points ahead of the new No. 2 Muhlenberg. Wabash and North Central followed the Mules lead and also moved up two spots in the rankings to third and fourth, respectively. Washington & Jefferson improved three places to complete the top five.
The numbers six, seven and eight teams - Cortland State, Millsaps and Trinity (Texas) all moved three rungs up the ladder as well. Mary Hardin-Baylor dropped seven spots to number nine, while 10th ranked UW-Whitewater plummeted eight places.
The Wolverines are one of two Atlantic Central Football Conference teams ranked this week. Salisbury eased down a notch to No. 17 after a win over Becker.
Wesley will head south this weekend as the Wolverines and Sea Gulls renew the Route 13 Rivalry on Saturday, November 1 at 1:00 PM.
