Wesley Up to Ninth in D3football.com Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Wesley College football team climbed to ninth in the latest D3football.com Top 25 poll after its 36-21 win at Salibury in the Route 13 Rivalry.

It is the second straight week the Wolverines have climbed in the poll.  Wesley was 10th last week after spending the three previous weeks at No. 11.

The top three teams stayed the same.  Mount Union received all 25 first place votes and holds a 625-583 lead over No. 2 North Central in the voting.

Millsaps and UW-Whitewater each move up one spot by defeating ranked opponents to claim the final two spots in the top five.  Muhlenberg, meanwhile, dropped two spots to sixth after a win over Dickinson.

No. 7 Cortland State and No. 8 Mary Hardin-Baylor are also ranked ahead of Wesley.  After the Wolverines, Williamette completes the top 10.

Atlantic Central Football Conference rival Salisbury fell just one spot after the loss to Wesley and is ranked 17th this week.

The Wolverines moved up after a loss by Washington & Jefferson, who was ranked ninth last week.  The Presidents fell to 19th this week.

The D3football.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.

Wesley heads north this weekend for a showdown with Division II Lake Erie College on Saturday, November 8.
