Wesley 12th in AFCA Top 25
WACO, Texas - The Wesley College football team is ranked 12th in the latest top 25 released by the American Football Coaches Association.
The Wolverines held onto the No. 12 spot after a 47-26 win over Division II Lake Erie College on November 8.
Earlier this week, Wesley was ranked ninth in the D3football.com Top 25 and were third in the ECAC Lambert-Meadowlands Trophy balloting.
Mount Union received 39 first place votes in the AFCA poll for a total of 999 points. Wabash remained No. 2, while North Central (Ill.) and Muhlenberg flipped positions and are now ranked third and fourth, respectively.
Millsaps and Cortland State also switched positions with Millsaps moving into the top five. After Cortland State at No. 6, Mary Hardin-Baylor, UW-Whitewater and Williamette held onto their spots at seven, eight and nine, respectively.
Hardin-Simmons passed Case Western to complete the top 10, as Case dropped to 11th.
Wesley is one of two Atlantic Central Football Conference teams in the rankings. Salisbury moved up two places to No. 23.
The Wolverines will close out the regular season with a non-conference game against Gallaudet at Dr. Scott D. Miller Stadium at 2:00 PM on November 15.
