Benson Honored by ACFC

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Wesley College junior safety Aaron Benson (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven) was named the Atlantic Central Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a 34-0 win over Christopher Newport.

Benson made six tackles, including one tackle for loss in the Wolverines season opening shutout win.  The team captain spearheaded a unit that held Preseason All-America running back Tunde Ogun to just eight yards rushing.  Benson then capped the win and preserved the shutout with a 73-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Wesley travels to NCAA Division II North Greenville on Saturday, September 12 for a 7:00 PM kickoff.
