Wesley Fifth by AFCA
WACO, Texas - The Wesley College football team is ranked fifth in the initial American Football Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll of the 2009 season.
With the release of the AFCA rankings, the Wolverines are fifth in both of the major NCAA Division III football polls. Wesley was ranked fifth by D3football.com earlier in the week.
Mount Union received 39 of the 40 first place votes to occupy the No. 1 position in the AFCA poll. UW-Whitewater was second and received the final first place vote. Mary Hardin-Baylor checked in at No. 3 and Wheaton (Ill.) was fourth.
St. John's (Minn.), Washington & Jefferson, Cortland State, Wabash and Case Western round out the top 10.
Wesley, 3-0 after a 31-13 win over Delaware Valley last weekend, will travel to LaGrange College in Georgia for a 1:00 PM kickoff on September 26.
