ORLANDO - Former Wesley College All-American defensive end Bryan Robinson (Harrington, Del.) debuted in the new United Football League for the New York Sentinals in the team's season opener.

Robinson suited up as number 95 and batted down a pass in the contest, lining up opposite former NFL All-Pro Simeon Rice for the Sentinels, who fell to the Orlando Tuskers 35-13.

Earlier this year, Robinson played for the Manchester Wolves of areanafootball2.  He finished ninth in the league with 10 sacks.  Last year, he was among the final cuts of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL.

This fall, he had signed a contract for the Hamilton TigerCats of the Canadian Football League, but never played when an opportunity with the UFL opened shortly thereafter.

Robinson anchored the Wesley defense for four years, leading the team to a 44-7 record, three trips to the NCAA Playoffs and two trips to the national semifinals. As a senior, he led a team that advanced to the national quarterfinals and won both the Lambert-Meadowlands and ECAC Team of the Year Awards.

Robinson was named to the AP Little All-American First Team and the American Football Coaches Association All-American First Team in 2007. His selection to the D3football.com All-American First Team was his third selection by that outlet, as was his D3football.com All-South Region Defensive Player of the Year Award. Robinson was also chosen as the ECAC All-Southwest Region Player of the Year.

He was named All-Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) First Team four times and was the ACFC Defensive Player of the Year three times.

Robinson finished his career as both Wesley's and the ACFC's all-time leader with 47 sacks and 92.5 tackles for loss. He also ranks among the school's all-time leaders in tackles.
