Wesley Fourth in AFCA Poll

Complete Poll

WACO, Texas - The Wesley College football team moved up to fourth in the American Football Coaches Association Division III Top 25 after a shutout win over Apprentice last weekend.

Just as in the D3football.com poll, Mary Hardin-Baylor's loss, coupled with the Wolverines convincing victory, allowed Wesley to move up one spot this week.

The Cru' were third last week, but Mississippi College pulled off a 17-14 upset with a last second field goal.  The Choctaws moved into the rankings at No. 20, the only new team in this week's poll.

Mount Union is once again No. 1, receiving 39 first place votes.  No. 2 UW-Whitewater garnered the final first place vote.

Wheaton (Ill.) climbed from fourth to third and is the lone other team ahead of the Wolverines in the rankings.

Wesley, off to the third best start in school history at 6-0, will host Webber International on October 24 in the beginning of a four game homestand to end the regular season.
