Bryan Robinson Makes AFL's Gladiators

CLEVELAND - Former Wesley College All-American defensive end Bryan Robinson (Harrington, Del.) has made the 2010 opening day roster of the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League.

Robinson played in the United Football League for the New York Sentinals last fall after playing for the Manchester Wolves of areanafootball2 during the summer.  He finished ninth in AF2 with 10 sacks for the Wolves.  He had also signed with the Hamilton TigerCats of the Canadian Football league after the AF2 season, before being scooped up by the UFL.

In the summer of 2008, he was among the final cuts of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL.

Robinson anchored the Wesley defense for four years, leading the team to a 44-7 record, three trips to the NCAA Playoffs and two trips to the national semifinals. As a senior, he led a team that advanced to the national quarterfinals and won both the Lambert-Meadowlands and ECAC Team of the Year Awards. Robinson was named to the AP Little All-American First Team and the American Football Coaches Association All-American First Team in 2007. His selection to the D3football.com All-American First Team was his third selection by that outlet, as was his D3football.com All-South Region Defensive Player of the Year Award. Robinson was also chosen as the ECAC All-Southwest Region Player of the Year. He was named All-Atlantic Central Football Conference (ACFC) First Team four times and was the ACFC Defensive Player of the Year three times.

Robinson finished his career as both Wesley's and the ACFC's all-time leader with 47 sacks and 92.5 tackles for loss. He also ranks among the school's all-time leaders in tackles.
