Wolverines Named Defense of the Week

LEESBURG, Va. - The Wesley College defense was named the Division III Defense of the Week by the Beyond Sports College Network after a dominant performance in a 55-0 win over Apprentice.

The starting unit of Chris Mayes (Waldorf, Md./Westlake), Paul Gilstrop (Lindenwold, N.J./Paul VI), Dwayne Glass (Wilingboro, N.J./Holy Cross), Devin Hardy (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech), Mike Asiedu (Yonkers, N.Y./Gorton), Kirk Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Mount Saint Joseph), Jeff Morgan (Vineland, N.J./Vineland), Dakevis Howard (Wilmington, Del./Concord), Leon Jones (Lindenwold, N.J./Lindenwold), Michael Brandenburg (Edgewater, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Dominique Herald (Newark, N.J./Pennington School) were honored after the Wolverines notched their third shutout of 2011.

Wesley limited the Builders to just 77 total yards of offense and Apprentice rushed for a negative 12 yards.

The Wolverines host Huntingdon (Ala.) in a key Pool B battle at Scott D. Miller Stadium at noon on November 12.
