Wolverines’ Benson honored for defense
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Wesley College junior safety
Aaron Benson was named the Atlantic Central
Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a 34-0
win over Christopher Newport.
Benson made six tackles, including one tackle for loss in
the Wolverines' seasonopening shutout win. The team captain
spearheaded a unit that held Preseason All-America running back
Tunde Ogun to just eight yards rushing. Benson
capped the win and preserved the shutout with a 73yard
interception return for a touchdown.
Wesley travels to NCAA Division II North Greenville Saturday
for a 7 p.m. kickoff
