Tadlock Scores Game-Winner at RMC
ASHLAND, Va. - Wesley College's Brooke Tadlock followed a three goal game on Saturday by scoring the game-winner on Sunday as the Wolverines outlasted Randolph-Macon 3-2 in non-conference action.
The Wolverines (7-5) fell behind early as the Yellow Jackets got a goal from Nicole Kline at 3:44 for a 1-0 lead.
Wesley regrouped quickly as Amanda Fisher (Felton, Del.) set up Brooke Bennett (Milton, Del.) for a game-tying score at 8:01.
Sheree Pleasanton's sixth goal of the year in the 40th minute gave the Wolverines a 2-1 lead in at the intermission.
Just as in the first half, Randolph-Macon struck quickly to open the second half. Mary McCarthy fed Kendall Lam only 20 seconds into the second half to tie the game at 2-2.
The score remained tied until Tadlock (Middletown, Del.) beat the Yellow Jackets' Ashley Crouch at 61:50 for the game-winner.
The score was Tadlock's 22nd of her career, moving the sophomore into sole possession of eighth place on Wesley's all-time list.
Sarah Johnson (Honeybrook, Pa.) had a strong game in cage, stopping nine shots for the Wolverines.
Crouch made eight saves in what proved to be a busy afternoon for the goalkeepers.
Randolph-Macon held a 15-12 advantage on shots, while Wesley led 12-10 on penalty corners.
