No. 17 Juniata Outlasts Wesley
DOVER, Del. - With just 3:16 left in overtime, No. 17 Juniata's Kim Amrod deflected a shot into the goal to give the Eagles a 2-1 win over Wesley College.
Amrod sent a corner in to Meghan McGlone who shot the ball on cage where it was deflected in by Amrod for the game-winner.
Wesley (11-6) tied things up in the 60th minute on a goal by Danielle Tearl (Middletown, Del./Middletown), her fifth of the season. The freshman shot the ball from right to left to tie things up with just 10 minutes left.
McGlone put the Eagles (13-3) on the board late in the first half off an assist from Paula Price off another corner for Juniata.
Sarah Johnson (Honeybrook, Pa./Twin Valley) stopped 18 shots for the Wolverines, while Brooke Bennett (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) notched a defensive save.
Denalyn Spratt had a pair of saves for Juniata.
Wesley will get back in action on October 25 at No. 18 Christopher Newport.
