Four Wolverines Named All-CAC
YORK, Pa. - Wesley College's Brooke Tadlock (Middletown, Del./Middletown), Amanda Fisher (Felton, Del./Lake Forest), Abigail Hill (Dover, Del./Lake Forest) and Sarah Johnson (Honeybrook, Pa./Twin Valley) were named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey team, as voted by the conference coaches.
Tadlock and Fisher were chosen to the first team, while Hill and Johnson earned spots on the second team.
Tadlock earned her second straight first team nod after leading Wesley with 11 goals, three assists and 25 points. Six of her scores proved to be game-winners, the most in the conference. The junior nursing major moved into fourth place all-time at Wesley with 37 goals and 85 points.
Fisher moved up to the first team this season after a second team selection in 2008. Fisher started all 22 games on defense for Wesley, making three defensive saves to tie for second on the team. Fisher, a senior political science major, also contributed offensively with two goals and two assists.
Hill, a freshman, improved as the season went on to earn a place on the second team. She finished the year with four goals and two assists for six points, but the media arts major scored twice in Wesley's CAC First Round win over St. Mary's (Md.).
Johnson emerged as one of the conference's top goalkeepers in her junior season. She finished second in the conference in saves and save percentage. The elementary education major was named a womensfieldhockey.com honorable mention player of the week during the season and moved into sixth place all-time at Wesley with 242 career saves.
Wesley finished 2009 with a 12-10 record, the 13th straight season the program has won at least 11 games. The Wolverines advanced to the CAC Semifinals earned a bid to the ECAC Mid Atlantic Championships.
