Field Hockey Team Honored by NFHCA
CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Wesley College field hockey team earned a 2009 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA National Academic Team Award and eight Wolverines were named to the National Academic Squad.
The Wolverines qualified for the National Academic Team Award by posting a team grade point average of over a 3.0 in the fall.
Wesley also had eight student-athletes earn places on the National Academic Squad by posting overall GPAs of 3.30 or better through the end of the fall of 2009.
Junior Brooke Tadlock (Middletown, Del./Middletown) and senior Amanda Fisher (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) each earned the honor for the third time. Sophomore Dana Keller (Dover, Del./Dover) was recognized for the second time, while freshmen Tristin Burris (Camden, Del./Polytech), Kaitlin Evans (Ewell, Md./Crisfield), Abigail Hill (Dover, Del./Lake Forest), Samantha Weiss (Dover, Del./Dover) and Hannah Wilson (Dover, Del./Dover) were named to the team for the first time.
Tadlock, Fisher and Hill were all recognized earlier in the year for their play on the field as all three were chosen to the All-Capital Athletic Conference team and Tadlock also earned NFHCA All-South Region accolades.
The 2009 Wolverines won 12 games and advanced to the ECAC South Tournament.
