DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College field hockey team stumbled 5-1 in their Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opener to the York (Pa.) Spartans on Sunday.

After York scored twice to open the game, Jessica Behornar scored in the 20th minute when she finished off a shot from just inside the circle to cut the York lead to one into the halftime break.

York scored three unanswered goals in the second half to pull away from Wesley.

Emily Wagner notched a defensive save at the end of the first half while Natalie Quigley recorded one of her own early in the second half.

Bridget Wood got the call in net for the Wolverines and stopped eight shots.

The Wolverines will step out of CAC play on Wednesday when they take on the Eastern Eagles on the road. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
