Wesley College Field Hockey Camps

Wesley College and Gear Up FHC are offering the following camp experiences for the summer of 2011.

Due to low number of registrations the June Camp will be canceled.  We are opening the July Camp to everyone ages 7-18. 

July 11-14: Wesley College will be offering a Day Camp for girls ages 7-18. The camp will begin each day at 9 (arrive at Scott D. Miller Stadium around 8:30 to run, stretch and prepare for the activities), and will end at 3:00. Each camper is required to bring their own lunch and are not permitted to leave throughout the day. The last day of camp will be pizza day and lunch will be provided to each camper. The camp offers a variety of beginner to advanced skills, as well as team strategies. Field Hockey drills and team play reflect the latest instructional techniques. Highlights include offensive and defensive skills, game strategies, and game play. Campers are trained at a ratio of 1 counselor for every 10-12 campers in all of the major fundamental areas of the game: hitting, 1 v 1 elimination skills, passing, scoring and defensive skills. Camp is open to individuals and teams. Players are grouped appropriately be age and ability. Teams train together where appropriate. Special goalkeeping instruction is available. If the campers come from the same high school they will be placed together for some of their games (depending on the number of campers and the levels attending.) Each camper is required to bring their own equipment (stick, mouth guard, shin guards, cleats/ sneakers and goalie equipment, if applicable) and lunch.
