Wesley Takes Sixth Against DI Competition

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - Wesley College took sixth place as the only Division III team against all Division I competition at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational, hosted by George Washington University at the par-71, 6,480-yard Kings Creek Country Club.

Chris Osberg led the Wolverines tying for 10th place with a 36-hole 152 (77-75).  Andrew Geyer finished one stroke back in a tie for 13th (77-76). 

Jeff Owsik (88-75) and Rob Zimmerer (85-78) turned in matching 163 totals to tie for 37th place.  Kevin Reidinger (83-86) finished 46th at 169.

Wesley finished with a 629, just two strokes behind fifth place Lafayette.  Penn won the tournament with a 595, led by the tournament champion Michael Blodgett who shot a 139 (70-69).

The Wolverines are now idle until October 6, when they head to the Bent Creek Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall.  The Wesley Fall Classic slated for September 22-23 has been cancelled.
