Wesley Places 12th at Oglethorpe
CHESTNUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Wesley College golf team placed 12th at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational at the Royal Lakes Golf Club in Chestnut Mountain, Georgia.
Chris Osberg (Amherst, Va./Amherst) shot a 76-75-151 to finish in a tie for 30th on the par 71, 6,835 yard course.
Rob Zimmerer (Franklin, N.J./Wallkill Valley) tied for 43rd with an 80-76-156, one shot ahead of Jeff Owsik's (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) 157 (78-79), which tied for 45th.
Andrew Geyer (Milford, Del./Milford) tied for 49th (80-79) with a 159. Kevin Reidinger's (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley) 60th place finish (81-83-164) rounded out the Wolverines' efforts.
Wesley finished with a 623 (314-309) to finish two shots behind 11th place Piedmont.
Oglethorpe defended its home course, shooting a 577 to edge Guilford by a single stroke.
Oglethorpe's Matthew Rebitch shot a 72-68-140 to edge Dave Gordon of Rhodes College by one shot and three others by a pair of strokes for the individual crown.
Wesley concludes its fall season with a trip to the O'Briant Memorial Tournament at Guilford on October 27-28.
