Wesley 12th After First Round

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Chris Osberg (Amherst, Va./Amherst) shot a 78 to lead Wesley after the first round of the Tom & Bettie O'Briant Memorial hosted by Guilford at the Cardinal Golf & Country Club.

Osberg finished at eight over par in a tie for 19th place. 

Wesley's remaining four golfers all finished within two strokes of one another.  Alec Kessler (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area)shot an 83 to tie for 48th after the first round, one stroke and six places ahead of Clayton Bunting (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Tech)Rob Zimmerer (Franklin, N.J./Wallkill Valley) and Bobby Ehrhardt (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) tied for 59th with matching rounds of 85.

Wesley sits in 12th place as a team entering Tuesday's second round. 

Defending tournament champion Methodist University shot 16-over-par 296 Monday to take the first round lead.

Emory's Charles Raindre fired the day's low round with a two-over-par 72.
