Ex-Wolverine Third at Delaware Amateur

WILMINGTON, Del. - Former Wesley College All-American Anthony Apostolico finished third overall at the 2010 DSGA Golf Championship held at Wilmington Country Club.

Apostolico was among the leaders throughout the tournament - he was tied for first after the second round and alone atop the leaderboard through 54 holes - before claiming third.  Overall, he shot a two over par 286 (71-68-73-74).

He was bested by a current and a former NCAA Division I golfer in the tournament.  Delaware's Justin Martinson finished three under after shooting a 67 in the final round to claim the title.  Kyle Davis, who played collegiately at Central Florida, edged Apostolico by one stroke to finish at plus one.

Apostolico was a member of Wesley's 2002-03 squad that finished second at the NCAA Division III Championships.  He was the leader at that tournament after the first round and finished tied for 12th overall.  He was one of three Wolverines to finish in the top 20 and earn All-America honors.
