Golf Sits 6th After Opening Round of CAC Championship

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Wesley College's men's golf team sits sixth of seven schools after the opening round of the Capital Athletic Conference Championship held at the Par 70, 6,598 yard James River Country Club on Saturday afternoon.  The Wolverines shot a 339 (+59) as a team, just one stroke behind Marymount and five strokes fourth-place William Paterson.

Dylan Chessher leads the Navy & White after carding a 40 on both the front and back nine to finish with a ten-over, 80.  Chessher birdied the Par 5, sixth hole, as did Tyler Spielberger who fired an 83 on the day.

Ricky Mulloy was third on the squad with an 86, which included a birdie to open the back nine while Mike Piccirillo shot a 90 to round out the scorers for Wesley.  Ryan Strain also competed for the Wolverines and shot a 98.

The final round of the CAC Championship will be held on Sunday, April 19.
