Johnson Named CAC Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. - Wesley senior guard Rashawn Johnson (Selbyville, Del./Sussex Tech) was named CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season and the second time in the last three weeks after pouring in 88 points in three games (29.3 avg.) and leading the Wolverines to a 3-0 week.

Wesley posted victories this week over Mary Washington and St. Mary's, the teams that played for the 2008 CAC title who are tied for second place, two games behind in the CAC standings at the midpoint of the season. Johnson, who hit the 30-point plateau twice in three games, shot 59% from the field, including 11-of-24 from three-point range, and dropped in 17-of-19 free throws for Wesley, which is 8-0 heading into the second half of the 16-game CAC season.

Johnson also won the first CAC Player of the Week award of the season on November 17, then won the accolade for the second time this season on January 12.

The Wolverines, who stretched their winning streak to nine games Monday evening with a win over TCNJ to improve to 12-5 on the season, are idle until heading to Gallaudet on Saturday, January 31.
