Wesley Fourth in Middle Atlantic Region
INDIANAPOLIS - The Wesley College men's basketball team is ranked fourth in the initial NCAA Middle Atlantic Regional rankings.
The rankings were based on team records through February 1. Up to that point, Wesley was 12-5 overall including an impressive 10-1 mark against regional opponents.
Franklin & Marshall tops the Middle Atlantic Region with records of 17-2 overall and 16-2 in the region. Gwynned-Mercy (15-2, 14-1) was second, followed by DeSales (16-3, 15-3).
The Wolverines were fourth, followed by Capital Athletic Conference rival St. Mary's (Md.) (15-4, 12-2). McDaniel (14-5, 12-4), Widener (14-5, 12-5), and Gettysburg (13-5, 13-5) rounded out the eight team ranking.
Wesley, who has sinced moved to 14-6 overall and 11-2 against regional foes, sits atop the CAC standings at 10-1, a half game ahead of St. Mary's.
The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday, February 7, when they travel to Route 13 rival Salisbury for a 4:00 PM tip off.
