Wesley Ranked Sixth in Middle Atlantic

INDIANAPOLIS - The Wesley College men's basketball team ranked sixth in the latest NCAA Division III Middle Atlantic Regional rankings.

The Wolverines slid two spots after ranking fourth in the previous two rankings.  This week's rankings are based upon team records through February 15, up to which point Wesley was 16-7 overall and 14-3 against regional opposition.

Franklin & Marshall tops the rankings for the third straight week with a mark of 21-2 overall and 20-2 in region.  Wesley's Capital Athletic Conference rival St. Mary's (20-4, 17-2) jumped up to second this week, followed a Widener (18-5, 16-5) team that jumped all the way from seventh last week to third.  McDaniel (17-6, 15-5) moved into fourth, with DeSales (18-5, 17-5) dropping to fifth.

After the Wolverines, Gwynned-Mercy (18-5, 17-4) and Cabrini (17-6, 17-6) from the Colonial States Athletic Conference complete the eight team rankings.

Wesley, now 16-8 overall, closes the regular season with a key battle atop the conference standings with St. Mary's (Md.). The winner will have the top seed in the CAC Championship Tournament.  Tip off in St. Mary's City, Maryland is set for 4:00 PM.
