Wesley Active at World Championships

DOVER, Del. - A trio of former Wesley College men's lacrosse players will be part of the upcoming 2010 World Lacrosse Championships.

Jim McCleaft '09 is in Poland traveling and serving as the coach of the Polish National Select team in preparations for the World Games in Manchester, England in July.  He is working with former Wesley head coach Christian Zwickert, who will coach the Polish National Team in the World Championships.  McCleaft was one the best goalkeepers in Wesley history, amassing 627 career saves and was named an All-American as a senior.

Also helping out with the Polish contingent will be Sam Glover '06.  Glover, of Sheffield England, has been assigned to be the Polish National Team Liaison by the World Games Committee to assist Team Poland while in Manchester.  Glover was a team captain his senior year at Wesley.

Another former Wolverine will see action for the English National Team.  Tom Gallon, who did a year of exchange from Manchester University in England, made final roster for the English National Team as one of the team's face off specialists.  In his only season at Wesley, he won 33-of-68 face offs for the Wolverines.

The FIL World Lacrosse Championships will run from July 14-24 in Manchester, England.
