Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Frostburg State
DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's men's lacrosse team dropped a CAC matchup to Frostburg State, 11-6, on Saturday afternoon at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The Wolverines now stand at 5-5 overall and 0-4 in the CAC while the Bobcats move to 10-3 on the year and 3-2 in league play.
The teams played even in the first quarter with each squad scoring twice. Redefer tied the score at one and Seibert gave Wesley its first lead of the game off a pass from Kyle Funk with 6:14 left in the opening quarter.
Frostburg tied the score at two just before the end of the quarter but Seibert took advantage of a man-up opportunity to give the Wolverines a 3-2 lead just 108 seconds into the second. The Bobcats then scored two-straight to go into the half with a 4-3 lead but Redefer tied the game with 12:36 left in the third.
Lucas Flaig put FSU back on top just over four minutes later and the Bobcats scored on a man-up after three more minutes to take a two-goal lead.
Rakos cut the deficit to a single goal just before the horn in the third, and after a Frostburg goal to open the fourth, Redefer notched the hat trick on an assist from Rakos with 12:06 left to play. However, the Bobcats finished the game with four-straight goals to seal the victory.
The Bobcats held a narrow 48-40 shot advantage, but had 31 shots on goal to Wesley's 14. Sam Kennedy kept Wesley alive with 20 saves in the loss.
Wesley travels to face Salisbury on April 9 at 7 pm.
