Hulem, McCann, Justis Named All-CAC
ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Peter Hulem of the Wesley College men's soccer team was named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) First Team, and is joined on the all-conference squad by teammates Brian McCann and Allen Justis. McCann and Justis were chosen to the second team.
Hulem, a defender from Derwood, Maryland, earned his third all-conference honor. He was twice named All-PAC when the Wolverines were members of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference. In 2007, Hulem scored three goals - in successive games down the stretch - from the back line to tie for third on the team. He also added one assist for seven points. More impressive, the senior took just five shots on the year to score his three goals. For his career, he has seven goals and an assist for 15 points.
McCann earned his first career all-conference selection after leading the Wolverines with four goals and finishing second with four assists. A senior midfielder, he also tied for the team lead with 12 points. Eight of his points came in conference play, with the remaining four coming from a two-goal effort in a win over Neumann. McCann also finished tied for eighth in the CAC in assists. The Franklinville, New Jersey native has five career goals and six assists for 16 points.
Justis, from Pocomoke, Maryland, is also making his first all-conference team. The senior midfielder played in all 20 matches, scoring three goals to tie for third on the team. All three scores came in CAC action. He finished his career with 12 goals and four assists for 28 points.
The trio helped the Wolverines to a 5-3 mark in the schoo's first year as a member of the CAC after spending 10 years in the PAC. Wesley advanced to the semifinals of the CAC Championships after falling to the eventual champion, Salisbury. Wesley was 7-11-1 overall.
