Wolverines Fall on Penalty Kick
DOVER, Del. - A penalty kick by St. Mary's (Md.) Misha Simon at 44:06 was the only score as Wesley College fell to the Seahawks 1-0 in Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) men's soccer action.
It appeared the two teams would enter the half knotted at 0-0, but Simon was awarded a penalty kick in the final minute of the half and converted to break the deadlock.
Neither team was able to score in the second half. It looked as if Simon might get a second score for St. Mary's (2-2-1, 1-0 CAC), but Wesley (2-3, 0-1 CAC) keeper Nick Talarico turned him away with a jumping punch save in the 65th minute.
Talarico made four saves on the evening. Paul Spranklin had six for the Seahawks.
Wesley will look to rebound with non-conference match at McDaniel on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 PM.
