Wesley Shuts Out Gallaudet
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Wesley College scored twice in the final 18 minutes to put away a scrappy Gallaudet University team and claim a 3-0 victory in Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) men's soccer action.
Mike Thomas' first goal of the season broke a scoreless tie and gave Wesley (4-3-1, 1-1 CAC) a 1-0 lead at 17:41. The score remained that way until late in the second half when Ryan Fish picked up a pair of assists. First he fed Will Sutton for his team leading third goal of the year and then connected with Oscar Juvera for his first career goal at 84:40 for the game's final tally.
Tom Mikulski turned away four Bison shots to notch the shut out in goal.
The Wolverines outshot Gallaudet (0-8, 0-3 CAC) 40-4 and held a 7-0 advantage on penalty kicks.
Zsolt Plasko made 20 saves for the Bison.
The Wolverines will return to action on Saturday, September 27, when they host Neumann at 7:00 PM.
