Wolverines Tie Mary Washington

Box Score

Dover, Del. - Wesley College men's soccer earned a tie against Captial Athletic Conference foe Mary Washington 1-1 at Dr. Scott D. Miller Stadium.

Wesley's (6-3-2, 2-1-1 CAC) Jason Norris took a great middle cross from Kyle Lawrence and ran in on the goalie all alone for the first goal of the game in the 5th minute.  The goal marked the fourth on the season for Norris and the fifth assist for Lawrence.

Mary Washington (7-3-2, 3-0-1 CAC), ranked fifth in the South Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American, shook off the early shock and tied the game in the 17th minute when Darien Ruggles tapped the ball past Wolverine goalkeeper, Nick Talarico, after a quick cross from the left side of the goal by Eagle T.L. Tutor.

Both teams had many chances as time went on, but good defense by both teams kept the ball out of the goals.

Wesley trailed in shots 22-12, and corners 7-3.

The Wolverines travel to Marymount (Va.) on Oct. 8 for a 8:00 p.m. game.
