Nimmerichter Named Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. - Wesley College sophomore midfielder Matt Nimmerichter was named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 5.
Nimmerichter's first two career goals tied the game and won it as the Wolverines erased a two-goal deficit in the second half to claim a 3-2 win over No. 18 Salisbury on Wednesday.
The Middletown, Delaware native tied the game at 2-2 with a header at 72:23, then converted a penalty kick 1:40 later for the game-winner.
Nimmerichter also played a key role in Wesley's 1-1 tie on Saturday against a Mary Washington team ranked fifth in the South Region.
He shares the award with the Eagles' Darien Ruggles, who scored UMW's only goal in the tie between the two teams.
The Wolverines, 6-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the CAC, travel to Marymount (Va.) for an 8:00 PM match on Wednesday, October 8.
