Wesley Shuts Out Valley Forge

DOVER, Del. - Mike Thomas scored three goals and Kyle Lawrence added a pair as the Wesley College men's soccer team cruised to its fourth straight win and ran its unbeaten streak to 10 with an 8-0 win.

Tom Mikulski benefitted from a stingy Wolverine (10-3-1) defense that limited the Patriots to just one shot on goal all evening to pick up his second shutout of the year in as many starts.

Thomas scored twice in the opening 4:09 to put Wesley comfortably ahead and added his third at 21:37.

A goal by Ayo Adedeji just under 10 minutes later sent the Wolverines into the intermission ahead 4-0.

Lawrence scored consecutive goals to open the second half before Alex Johnston and Steve Beauchamp capped the scoring.

John Schanck made 18 saves for Valley Forge Christian (5-8-1).

The Wolverines will travel to undefeated No. 2 York (Pa.) on October 22 for a 4:00 PM kickoff.
