Beavers Wins 100M at Osprey Open
POMONA, N.J. - Larry Beavers tied for the championship in the 100m dash, and added a second and a third place finish to lead Wesley in individual competiton at the Osprey Open hosted by Richard Stockton.
Beavers crossed the finish line in 11.12 to tie Dean McCleese of New Jersey City for first place.
Beavers also ran a 15.89 in the 110m high hurdles to take second place and added a third place finish in the 200m with a 22.25.
The 4x100m relay of Beavers, Michael Clarke, Matthew Robertson and Alpha Koroma placed second with a time of 42.39.
Clarke gave the Wolverines a pair of runners in the top 10 in the 100m. The senior finished eighth in a time of 11.49.
Dakevis Howard took eighth in the triple jump in 43-5. Horton Hodges cleared 5-7 3/4 in the high jump.
The Wolverines are in action again on April 11, when Wesley heads to the Rowan Open for a 2:00 PM start.
