Beavers Wins 100m at Rowan Open
GLASSBORO, N.J. - Larry Beavers won the 100m with a time of 10.88 - the fastest by a Wesley runner in the track & field's first Division III season - and anchored the victorious 4x100m relay team as the Wolverines competed at the unscored Rowan Open.
The junior led a dominant foursome in the 100m, as four of the top five finishers wore the Blue & White. After Beavers, Michael Clarke took second in 11.19, Alpha Koroma was fourth in 11.49 and Matt Robertson took fifth in 11.51.
The quartet then captured the 4x100 meter relay in 43.38, 1.51 seconds faster than second place Rowan.
Beavers was also second in the 110m high hurdles in 15.93 and third in the 200m in 22.49.
Dakevis Howard finished second in both the long jump (20-11 1/4) and the triple jump (43-5).
Horton Hodges cleared 5-10 to finish third in the high jump.
The Wolverines are back in action at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships at York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 19.
