Wolverines Strong at Widener

Results

CHESTER, Pa. - Wesley College's Larry Beavers (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) and Matthew Robertson (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) finished first and second in both the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash at the Widener Invitational.

Beavers ran a 6.55 in the 55 to edge out Robertson by 0.18 seconds for the win.  Things were even closer in the 200, where Beavers' 23.56 was just 0.01 faster than Robertson. 

Beavers added a second place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27.

Roger Morales, Jr. had several strong efforts in the jumps.  He was second in the triple jump with a 39-10.75 (12.16 meters) and third in the long jump with a mark of 20-0.5 (6.11).  The newcomer was also fifth in the high jump, clearing 5-10.75 (1.80).

David Breeding (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) was fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:59.66.

Wesley is idle for two weeks before heading to the Mason-Dixon Championships at Christopher Newport University on February 22.
