Beavers Ties For Ninth at NCAAs
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Wesley College's Larry Beavers (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) tied for ninth in the 55-meter dash at the 2009 NCAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Beavers ran a 6.44 in the preliminaries, missing a spot in the eight-man final by just .04 and tying the University of Chicago's Blake Obuchowski for ninth.
Stephen Headley of Springfield College ran a 6.24 to win the event. His time as the fastest in Division III this year.
Beavers became the first student-athlete to represent the second year varsity program at the NCAA Championships.
