Wesley Wins Five Events at West Chester
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Wesley College's Larry Beavers (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis), Chris Donisi (Woodbury, N.J./West Deptford) and Roger Morales (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) all won events, as did the Wolverines' 4x100-meter relay team at the Golden Ram Invitational at West Chester University.
No team scores were kept at the event.
Wolverine student-athletes set four school records at the meet.
Beavers set school records in both the 110-meter hurdles an the 200-meters. The senior bested the field in the 110-meter hurdles by over 1.4 seconds with his winning time of 15.51. He ran a 21.88 in the 200 to win by nearly half a second. He also added a second place finish in the 100-meter with a 10.99.
He was also part of the 4x100-meter relay team that won in 44.69, along with Donisi, Will Evans (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X. Shabazz) and Matthew Robertson (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) .
Morales also set a Wesley record when he high jumped 6-3 to win that event. Donisi won the long jump with a leap of 21-11 3/4, another school record. Morales also finished fourth in the long jump at 20-2 1/2.
Travis Douglas (Vineland, N.J./Vineland) took second in the discus with a toss of 122-6 and was fourth in the shot put at 38-11 1/2.
Robertson captured third in the 400-meter with a time of 52.16.
Wesley is back in action on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28 when the Wolverines head to Widener.
