Street Leads Wesley Past Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. - Wesley College's Megan Street (Bridgeville, Del./Epworth Christian) hit a grand slam, drove in seven runs and pitched a three-hit shutout as the Wolverines pounded Rosemont 20-0.
Kim Fearnbach (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) led off the game with a triple and Street picked up her first RBI in a two-run first inning.
Three Rambler errors in the second allowed the Wolverines to score seven times in the inning. Lyndsey Ellsworth (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Tech) had a two-run triple in the inning and Street added an run scoring double.
Ellsworth, Street, Carmen Walsh (Rehoboth Beach, Del./St.Marks) and Nikki Barton (Harrington, Del./Lake Forest) and consecutive RBI singles in the fourth to make it 13-0 with no one out in the frame. With two outs in the frame, Street took a pitch over the fence in centerfield with the bases loaded to cap the scoring.
Inside the circle, Street picked up seven of her 11 strikeouts in the final three innings before the game was called after five innings.
Wesley had 18 hits in the game, including three by Street, who fell just a triple short of the cycle. Ellsworth also had three hits, while Fearnbach, Walsh, Barton, McKenzie Davis (Hebron, Md./Mardela) and Michele Mules (York, Pa./Susquehannock) all had two hits. Fearnbach and Ellsworth each scored four times and Ellsworth drove in three more.
It was the Wolverines first shut out since April 11, 2007, also against Rosemont. Wesley last scored 20 runs against Immaculata on April 29, 2006.
