YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Steph Caracozza has been named the capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first time that Caracozza has received CAC weekly honors in her career.
A native of Melbourne Beach, Fla., Caracozza hit .833 for the week with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs to lead the Wolverines to a doubleheader split with Arcadia. Caracozza went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the opener before posting a 3-for-3 performance with two RBIs and two runs scored in Wesley's 8-0 victory in the nightcap.
Caracozza finished the season with a .427 batting average to rank sixth in the CAC along with a Wesley single-season record 37 runs scored.
The Wolverines had its best season in 13 years finishing 17-17 overall. Wesley's 17 victories were also its most since 2005.
